And what a fun few days they were! ; )
Carolyn flew in on Wednesday afternoon and we went off for a late lunch as soon as she got here. Came home and kept talking and suddenly it was ‘book club time’ so we added more wine, women but shockingly, hahaha no song to the mix ; ) We even made Carolyn take pictures so she was balancing on a chair for this one!
The next day somehow we didn’t quite get around to breakfast and at 1:30 we thought maybe we should go out and eat something because Cyndi was coming for happy hour at 4 ; ) We managed to squeeze in a great lunch sitting outside at a local oyster bar AND we made it home in time. Of course after a few more hours of wine, women and gossip we needed dinner – good job the hotel is right across the street ; )
Poor Greg was busy working while we were doing all this socializing and not just sitting in a snazzy office but flying back and forth between the North Slope and Anchorage. He snapped this picture as he flew past Denali on his way back down to the lower 48.
Anyway, he took a night flight down to Seattle and we knew we’d have to get up early but his plane actually touched down at 4:34am – ack! Good job we weren’t picking him up so we didn’t actually have to look coherent until 6 ; ) The plan was to have breakfast together and then for them to hit the road but Greg really looked like he needed some sleep so we sent him off for a nap and Carolyn and I got to gossip some more! David actually skyped from Japan right before Greg hit the sack too so that was good timing. Once he’d caught up on his sleep they got on their way heading south and I had a couple of hours before I went out with another friend for happy hour and dinner. Didn’t get back from that until after 11 last night and I had JUST got out of the shower this morning when David walked in having done the overnight flight from Japan. Makes me tired just retelling it but what fun it was ; ) Now I just have to wake David up in time to go and look at our new place this afternoon because all the floors are down and the doors are on – exciting stuff!
