“Once she was born I was never not afraid,” Didion writes.

Well once I read that quote there was no hope of me NOT reading this book of course. I didn’t read any Didion before My Year of Magical Thinking ( yeah I know I should duck when I say that – embarrassing, huh?! ) but that was an incredible piece of work that I just couldn’t put down so I was already interested in this one and now I’ve read some of the reviews it’s officially a must. Got to finish my current read, Lost in Shangri La (because it’s a library ipad download and will disappear in 19 days time) and then see if I can squeeze in Blue Nights before I have to get cracking on next month’s book club read.
For now though, yesterday’s storm is long gone so maybe I’ll get a couple of miles in later today but apparently the wind and rain didn’t keep EVERYONE in yesterday – this was across the sound in the eastern shore of Vashon Island which is right in front of us ; )

About girlonahandcycle

Natural Brit/Naturalized American wife, mom, grandma and all around old broad still happily ignoring my MS (since 1985 - ha!). Every time it slows me down I find a way to speed back up which explains my very cool Tilite wheelchair and Top End handcycle ..........also my ripped arms ; ) Don't get back to the homeland or to other cool places quite as easily or often as I'd like anymore so theoretically my rambling here keeps me a little more connected to far away friends and family.
