another new toy ; )

like I didn’t already spend all my time gazing at our view!
This baby arrived on my birthday – a timing fluke because if I hadn’t been out the night before partying with some of my friends I would have been here to sign for it then but still fun to have something to play with on the day ; )
Took us a while to decide what KIND of scope to get, let alone which make, model, size etc. We stared at people’s windows and balconies along the waterfront to see what type of scopes they had, checked out the new Cabela’s store when that opened in Tulalip because they had lots of different scopes and binoculars for their hunters and found a great nautical supply place in Ballard where the staff knew everything we needed to know and could answer every question we had. So – this is our new field scope, mounted on a decent tripod because clearly it has to be raised and lowered a lot depending on who’s looking through it – standing or from a wheelchair. So far it’s working pretty well – the legs adjust easily and go wide apart so that I can just wheel in between them and it’s light enough for me to move it without a problem. So – I’ll be here staring through the eyepiece hoping all those eagles, ferries, ships and occasional whales slow down just a bit until I get the hang of following things I’m looking at smoothly. At least those gorgeous still snow covered Olympics don’t move ; )

About girlonahandcycle

Natural Brit/Naturalized American wife, mom, grandma and all around old broad still happily ignoring my MS (since 1985 - ha!). Every time it slows me down I find a way to speed back up which explains my very cool Tilite wheelchair and Top End handcycle ..........also my ripped arms ; ) Don't get back to the homeland or to other cool places quite as easily or often as I'd like anymore so theoretically my rambling here keeps me a little more connected to far away friends and family.
