Mothers Day…..

…..on this side of the pond at least. I celebrated early yesterday (brunch care of Chelsea and Rich – yum!) and today I get the Sunday paper and the sun-baked deck all to myself ; )
This morning found me using my present from Taryn –

yeah, bet you didn’t get any of those! ; ) Anyway I was good and read ALL of the instructions (she emailed me and said “Don’t kill it” – as if!!) so I am rehydrating them which will take 4 – 7 days and then I can make kefir out of milk with them and you just keep reusing the grains to make new batches forever – you can even use things like coconut milk! Since I use kefir on my granola every morning this is a good thing and the fact that we buy our milk at Costco ( yes, that means in bulk) makes it even better.

Once that was taken care of I got to relax and enjoy this fabulous weather (and the Sunday paper of course) on my deck where I get to enjoy Chelsea’s present –

which goes pretty well with my petunias I think. Of course I could have waited until dark and taken a picture with the candle lit but then how would you have known that it matched the petunias??! ; )

About girlonahandcycle

Natural Brit/Naturalized American wife, mom, grandma and all around old broad still happily ignoring my MS (since 1985 - ha!). Every time it slows me down I find a way to speed back up which explains my very cool Tilite wheelchair and Top End handcycle ..........also my ripped arms ; ) Don't get back to the homeland or to other cool places quite as easily or often as I'd like anymore so theoretically my rambling here keeps me a little more connected to far away friends and family.
