Until November

Awoke to see the tribal canoes that we’d seen land on Alki on Monday paddling their way to their next landing in the South Sound and what a great picture to get a couple of them against the backdrop of the Ever Excel heading out to Kaohsiung, Taiwan where it will arrive on August 9th.
There has been a steady stream of them paddling south all morning – great weather for this part of their journey today.

Yesterday all 5 of us got together for dinner on the deck in honour of the fact that it was the last time we’ll be all together until November. It took Rich a little while to get here because of course he was the only one working to start with and then President Obama flew in and the freeway was blocked off for a while as his motorcade made it’s way to Bellevue.

About girlonahandcycle

Natural Brit/Naturalized American wife, mom, grandma and all around old broad still happily ignoring my MS (since 1985 - ha!). Every time it slows me down I find a way to speed back up which explains my very cool Tilite wheelchair and Top End handcycle ..........also my ripped arms ; ) Don't get back to the homeland or to other cool places quite as easily or often as I'd like anymore so theoretically my rambling here keeps me a little more connected to far away friends and family.

Great to get your family together, and I love the pictures. The tribal canoes are very cool–especially with having the huge vessel in the background. It’s like being there! jz
