Meiji Jingu

On David’s recent trip to Tokyo his hotel was close enough to this shrine for him to make a visit. He was lucky enough to see a Shinto wedding procession while he was there. His pictures are pretty self-explanatory so enjoy…

and no, he’s not QUITE back on this time zone yet. That must be why he just told me this afternoon how good Simon & Garfunkel’s lyrics are……..right????!! 😉

About girlonahandcycle

Natural Brit/Naturalized American wife, mom, grandma and all around old broad still happily ignoring my MS (since 1985 - ha!). Every time it slows me down I find a way to speed back up which explains my very cool Tilite wheelchair and Top End handcycle ..........also my ripped arms ; ) Don't get back to the homeland or to other cool places quite as easily or often as I'd like anymore so theoretically my rambling here keeps me a little more connected to far away friends and family.

    Hi,

Lovely views of the wedding, and that little girl is adorable! So, about Simon and Garf. lyrics: I remember being in high school (yes, that long ago) and one of my instructors during a time when we were studying the Depression era in US taking pictures from that time period and coordinating them with “The Boxer” by S & G. Still remains in my brain very vividly….so, yes, I would agree with David, on that thought. FYI: my most recent favorite Paul Simon CD was Surprise….maybe about 5 years ago. I enjoy every song on it. Listen to it and let me know. Prairie Home Companion saluted Paul Simon last weekend on the occasion of his birthday. Not certain of the years….maybe 75, though that seems way too old. Hugs, JZ

    • High School teachers must have loved S&G because I remember working on their lyrics in my English classes at school in England too 😉 I’m going to look for Surprise on Spotify this morning and if it’s there I’ll listen to it as dance around mopping the floors!
