It’s been 27 years since we lived in Minneapolis so we were thrilled to go to Alysse and Jake’s wedding there and be able to top up our nostalgia quotient 😉
but first, the big stuff…….
pretty flower girl…
very proud Dad and beautiful bride…
a very happy Mr & Mrs Thibodeau
inside the museum at the reception – look at the table to the left with the lady in hot pink, jacket over the chair – a great shot of the brides parents looking at each other with a look every other bride’s parent will instantly understand 😉
Alysse & Jake celebrated their wedding at the Mill City Museum, a fabulous venue that didn’t exist when we used to live there. It’s next to the new Guthrie Theatre which was built in 2006 – we had been to the old one back in the day up by the Walker Art Museum so we checked out the new one which looked fabulous and had great views from upstairs. Our hotel was downtown – walking and rolling distance from the wedding and Target Field where, serendipitously enough the Mariners just happened to be playing the Twins so of course we squeezed in a game too! Managed to see some old friends, check out where we used to live, where Chelsea was born and have a little time to see/do some of the things that we remembered. We knew some of Alysse’s family at the wedding of course so it was good to touch base with them again and we had fun meeting lots of new people too. All in all a really great time, we had a blast 😉
Here are some pictures that I nabbed from David’s phone before he deleted them this time! Enjoy…..
the game (which the M’s won!!) and the fireworks afterwards
we used to live here…
and here…
and Chelsea was born here 😉
Saint Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River from Mill Ruins Park
see the Guthrie’s Endless Bridge high above the road in the picture above and below? Also, you can see the rear, outside view of the Mill City Museum where the wedding took place
and the Guthrie Theatre with views from their Endless Bridge upstairs. It was just a tad windy outside on it!
and finally, the Hotel Minneapolis where we stayed is in an old bank building and they kept the vaults, hence this picture 😉
