Our local historical society was doing their big annual fundraising lunch today at Salty’s which is famous not only for their brunch but also the best view in Seattle 😉
Next year I think I’m going to go as a volunteer because there were so many people in the room that once I was at my table there was no hope of me moving anywhere……..to the Silent Auction tables or the Raffle Ticket sellers or to talk to anyone else I knew who wasn’t already at our table. Couldn’t even check out the desserts before the infamous Dessert Dash! That made it a cheaper lunch than it could have been but next time I’d just as soon see what’s up for auction – it’s a lot more fun to bid on things than just make a donation.
I did have some of my wonderful neighbors get me and the wheelchair there in one piece…..we’d practiced a few days ago to make sure it would work in their vehicle 😉 and then Joke, another fabulous neighbor came and got me home again. Shockingly enough I’m having her back in just a little while for Happy Hour to say thank you. Unusual huh? 😉
And here’s the official coverage of the big event!
